 Experience:

Work currently as a dietary aide at Country Villa Health Services:

 As of August I have been fortunate enough to work at a long term care facility for mentally ill patients as a dietary aide. My duties consist of, preparing the dessert for dinner, preparing nourishment snacks that are ordered by the doctor and dietitian, getting the punch cart ready for the HS nourishment snacks, cleaning, and washing dishes. I also have to keep in mind the very important factors of food safety at each preparation I do.

Volunteer as a Nutrition Counselor at CSUSB:

 Fall 2012 and this Winter 2013 I signed up to be a Nutrition Counselor for our Nutrition Counseling program on Campus. As a counselor  I take 24 hour recalls of client that com in seeking help or those who are curious about their eating habits. After counseling a client with my partner, we input the diet information into a diet analysis program to receive results of macro and micro nutrients the patient in consuming according to the 24 hour recall. Once all the values are calculated, we discuss the discrepancies with the client and work with them to figure out how they can improve each of those values by setting weekly goals for them to achieve.

Volunteer at Camp Conrad Chinnok Diabetes Camp:

 This past summer I volunteered as a dietary volunteer and the diabetes camp for teenagers in Angelus Oaks, Ca. At camp we helped out in the kitchen preparing food for the teens with celiac disease, and we also helped served in certain occasions. We also got to enjoy the activities the camp had to offer. I really enjoyed my time there and hope to go again this summer.

Volunteer at Health fair and SOAR event at CSUSB:

 Last spring I volunteered at a few events with the Nutrition Students Association, I have been a member for 3 years. At the events we promoted healthy diets, did 24 hr recalls and promoted our major to new transfer students at the SOAR events.
